Ian Hamilton Finlay, Acrobats

The poem "Acrobats" was written by Ian Hamilton Finlay in 1964. The text is made up of the single letters of the world "acrobats" that conveys also the sense of the world. The world is written in different ways (diagonally and backwards) that reader can see from on and below. Each letter of the world "acrobats" is repeated for all the line, five times for odd verses and four times for the even verses. The text is an entertaining of the same world that want to understand the mean or message of the world. Everyone has a personal opinion and understands the text in different ways. The only world (acrobats) wants to show that is difficult to do acrobats for an acrobat like it is complex to read a similar poem for a reader.
