This article reports a letter sent from The Governing Council of the European central Bank, represented by J.C. Trichet and M.Draghi, to the Italian Prime Minister on 5 August 2011.

 

The text is organized in 3 main paragraphs.

The first one works as introduction, giving some background informations and explaining the purpose of the letter.

 

Second paragraph adds further background informations  and set the thesis: “Italy needs to urgently underpin the standing of its sovereign signature”. Besides there is a statement that convey the seriousness of the situation.

 

Third paragraph cover the recommended reforming plan the Italian government has to realize, as soon as it is possible.

This paragraph is divided into three points: the first and the second one include other 3 points, they are measures the Italian government has to take. The third point is a warning about due time to carry out reforms.

 

Last paragraph is the conclusion where there are greetings and the signatures of authors.

 

Coming to the language it is east to note the straightforward style, as in the statement in the second paragraph. Besides it is a formal letter, as you can see  from the salutation, with a high linguistic code, full of specific economy terms.
