Aim: study an argumentative essay according to structure, contents, vocabulary. Write our own argumentative essay.

 

Three text analysed:

A. TOYNBEE, The Chief Features of the Industrial revolution, 1884 (extract).

T.S. ELIOT, from Talks broadcast in Germany after World War II (extract).

J.C. TRICHTET, M. DRAGHI, La Lettera from “Corriere della sera” (29 September 2011, p.3).

 

Process:

1.     Structural study: development of argumentations, vocabulary and use of language.

2.     Analysis of facts.

3.     connected examination of structure and contents.

 

Tests: production of argumentative texts based on given documents.

 

Evaluation:

1.     Consistency

2.     Textual organization

3.     Use of language

 

Scoring: for each indicator, notes from one to five (fifteen total scores, ten points=pass mark).
