From the title of the novel I expect that the protagonist will change his opinion about the oranges after an event.

Philippa Brewster is a literary woman, also she had worked as editor at publishers (Routledge, Jonathan Cape and HarperCollins).

The book of the quotation is  The Making of Marmelade. The book contains the recipes to make soft marmalade and all the steps to follow.

Introduction:

Genesis is the first book of Christian ible and Jewish Torah. It is an historical work and it starts with the creation of the world. After that it explains how God created living beings and humans. The story continues with the early origins of humans and then the people of Israel, beginning with the lives of its patriarchs. It contains the historical basis for religious ideas and institutions that underlie the state of Israel, and serves as an introduction to its history and its laws, customs and legends.

Exodus is the second book in the Jewish Torah and Christian Bible. It is written in Hebrew. It consists of 40 chapters, in the first 14 describes the Jews living in Egypt, slavery and their miraculous liberation by Moses, in the remaining describes the residence of Jews in the Sinai desert.

Leviticus is the third book of the Jewish Torah and Christian Bible. It is composed of 27 chapters and it contains religious and social laws, to be used by priests and Levites (keepers of God), which Moses had given to the Hebrews during their stay in the Sinai desert.

Numbers is the fourth book in the Jewish Torah and Christian Bible. It is costitued by 36 chapters describing the history of the Jews during their stay in the desert of Sinai. The book describes the travels, problems, rules, battles with other populations and internal conflicts of this population.

Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Jewish Torah and Christian Bible. It consists of 34 chapters describing the history of the Jews during their stay in the desert of Sinai and contains various social and religious laws. In this book there is the new law that Moses gave to the people before he died. Deuteronomy illustres to translate love for God in the social and family life.
