REFLECTING ON LITERATURE AND LANGUAGE

The use of language in a literary text is different from other types of texts, in fact it is rather remote from everyday language.
Advertisements often use literary language because it is full of energy and it makes a lasting impression on listeners; it sticks into the mind and it is frequently used in "catch-phrases".
We like reading books just because their language creates emotion and energy; they transform words into new visions of reality.

A literary text has a life on its own. This means that it is not connected with the writer's life (of course if the text is not an autobiography); so if we read a text we don't have to judge it just because the author doesn't appeal to us.

Art transforms Culture. Culture is the vision of the world that we have and since any artistic expression doesn't have a stability vision and it is not plane, it transforms the world. This is why dictatorships have always persecute artists and impose their language because they want everybody to conform.
