REFLECTING ON LITERATURE AND LANGUAGE

The use of language in a literary text is different from  other types of text:

•-         it is rather remote from everyday language;

•-         literary words transform words into new visions of reality

•-         a literary text is not necessarily  connected with the writer's life, the text has a life of its own.

Advertisements often use literary language because it is full of ENERGY and it makes a lasting impression on listeners

Some literary texts have become "Classics". A text is a "Classic" when it always tells new things to new generations and it TRANSFORMS our vision of the world

Writing a tex may be a form of art.

Art is something which distinguishes something  from somethingelse.

Culture is a crossroads  of codes, behaviours and knowledge peculiar to different people.

Art TRANSFORMS Culture. This is why dictatorships (Roman, Russian, Nazi...) persecuted artists and imposed their language: they wanted everybody to conform.
