Post modernism art is essentially conceptual and abstract. In the Traditional art there is an author different from the others, while in Post modernism the authority is discussed. At the question "what make somebody authority", the answer is "the recognition of a social group". In Post modernism high and low art come together in artistic production. Post modernism privileges the position of the reader because there is the reader who make sense to what he reads, sees, listens. ..... The dogma of Post modernism is that there is not truth, now all contemporary studies are based on it. Only truth is transformation, this implies that there is not stable meaning and that words always have different meaning according to what, when and where the reader is.

About the Extract

Extract taken from a novel, a Post modernist novel ( Nice Work) by David Lodge (free lance writer, independent), it was published in 1992. the novel develops around two main characters: Robyn, the woman, and Vic (short of Victory) the man who is the manager of a big company.
All the extract is about the characterization of the female character.
∞ The narrator put Robyn in contrast/ in opposition to Vic. The first info is the way she think " she doesn't believe in the concept of character". The character is a product of capitalistic vision of world.
