POSTMODERNISM CONCEPTS
The English word authority comes from the Latin word auctoritas which literally meant such things as "a producing", "production", "invention", "cause". Auctoritas in its turn came from auctor which meant "producer", "father", "progenitor", "creator", "maker", "inventor", "founder" and so on. In the English language, the Latin words auctor and auctoritas have become corrupted to "author" and "authority".

Post modernism states that the old concept of authority is not valid, because in society there is no longer a center, but a circular system like with some hubs like, nowadays the Web.
In Literature there is a rejection of common vision and writers, novelists, poets of Post Modernism start to consider INTERTEXTUALITY (Derrida's quote "there is nothing outside the text).
P.M. Art It makes no difference between HIGH and LOW art, they come together in ART PRODUCTION. It is essentially conceptual and abstract, because P.M. in general privileges the position of the readers because it is the reader who makes sense to what he reads, he sees, he listens too.
It also implies putting into doubt the concept of truth as a definitive thought be right one. And the postulate is there is NO TRUE. Because the only true is TRANSFORMATION.
THERE IS NO STABLE MEANING and it also implies words have different meaning according to what and where the reader is.
All in all P.M. art is very demanding.
