The text is an article written by Umberto Galimberti the day after the death of James Hillman, an American psychologist, he founded a movement toward archetypal psychology and he retired into private practice, writing and lecture till his death in Connecticut on October 27th , 2011.

In his method he used a different approach in fact he suggested an alternative approach to the traditional patient-analyst relationship (the traditional psychology focused on the Self, its dynamics and its characters). In fact  J.Hillman believed that what is very useful for the patient is to go back to the archetypes. Another important element is the soul', something which cannot be defined in concrete terms. Ideas of archetypes and soul also permeate the modernist culture.
