In my speech I’m going to write about Rudyard Kipling’s poem. He wrote the poem like a letter to his son to give him some advices about how to become a decent human.
The object of the letter can be summarized in some catch phrases: don’t give up; be persevering; stay strong; don’t give way to hate; be nice and kind; be sensible; be patient; trust yourself.
I really like Kipling’s poem because I share completely his ideas of what has to do one to be a decent human. He characterize someone I’m looking at like an example to follow. The most important things for me are loyalty, persevering and kindness. I think that following Kipling’s advices is not easy thought.
In my opinion he wrote a poem and not a personal letter to his son because he wanted others to read it also and to tell to every reader what he thought one has to do or be to become a man.
