Alessandro d’Avenia was born on the 2sd May of 1977 in Palermo. In his family there are: his father Giuseppe, his mother Rita, two brothers, three sisters and he. His mother is a teacher and is father is a dentist.
In 1990 he started to attend the classical high school in Palermo and he was fortunate to find special teachers, as Padre Pugliesi and Mario Franchina, his Italian’s teacher. After maturity, he started to attend the University of classical letters in Rome.
In 2000 he graduated in Greek letters and he won a Ph.D. in the University of Siena in Anthropology of the Ancient World. Then, he started to teach in the secondary school, realizing his dream. Then, he attended secondary school specialization to teach Greek and Latin at high schools.
In 2002 decided to start a new adventure: write stories.
In 2006 he moved to Milan to attend a screenwriting master to learn the technique of telling stories. Then master, he started to write some of the TV series and then he won a award. Has brought a screenplay on educational issues around Italy attracting interest if boys and girls.
From 2010 to 2014 he wrote his novels. “as with as milk, as red as bood” is his first novel and it was published on the 10th of January 2010. The novel is published in 23 countries and has exceeded one million copies. On the 1st of November 2011 the second novel come out: “cose che nessuno sa”. On the 4th April 2013 come out the film of “as white as milk and as red as bood”.on the 24th of October 2014 is pusblished his third novel: “ciò che inferno non è”. On the 31st of October 2016 is published “l’arte di assere fragli, come leopardi può salvarti la vita”. On the 31st October 2017 will come out the novel: “ogni storia è una storia d’amore”.
