A dialogue with a friend

C. Hello Virginia! I haven't seen you for a long time! How are you?

V. Hi Chiara! Sorry for the long absence. I'm fine thank you, and you?

C. Me too. What have you done in all this time?

V. This week I have been on holiday with my parents and my sister Beatrice.

We have been in Turin.

C. What have you done in Turin?

V. When we arrived we first went to our hotel to leave our suitcases.

Then we have took a bus and we have gone in the city center to take a tour of the city.

In the evening we had dinner in a restaurant in front of the Mole.

The day after we have took the bus to go to the Egyptian Museum.

We had a guide who explained us a lot of the artefacts that have been kept in the museum. There was also an exhibition dedicated to the Egyptian art at the Romans' period. It's was a really interesting visit.

C. What was your favourite room?

V. I have really enjoyed the room called “ Kings' room” with all the big statues of the Egyptian's Gods and their pharaons. With the black walls and lots of mirrors that reflected the images of the statues there was a beautiful atmosphere.

When we have just finished the visit of the museum we went to visit the Mole, one of the symbols of the city.

At the beginning it was built as a synagogue and then it became a cinema's museum.

It was very fun! There are all the different kinds of films: from the horror ones to the romantics.

There is also an elevator that takes you to the top of the Mole. The view from that height was beautiful!

On the last day after we have left our hotel we have visited Venaria Reale, a royal place outside Torino. It was a little boring because in the palace there isn't furniture and there are only empty rooms. The most beautiful part of the visit was the big corridor called “Great gallery” with a magnificent ceiling full of decorations. Finally we got back home.

C. It was a beautiful experience. Did you enjoy the trip?

V. Yes, I did. The next year I want to go back to Turin. What did you do the last days?

C. I have been very busy. I had a birthday party and I went on the attractions for the San Martino's fair in Cervignano.

At the birthday party I have known lots of people because my friend have invited her classemates from Udine and I didn't know nobody.

Then I have known another girl who didn't know nobody and I have talked with her for all the party.

The day after I went on some attractions with some friends and I had a pizza with them.

I had a lot of fun!

V. We should go together the next time!

C. Sure!
