5 A - James Joyce. Dubliners and UlyssesThe present area is devoted to the short stories selected from J. Joyce's Dubliners.
Consider Joyce's intention in writing Dubliners according to his own words:
"to write a chapter of the moral history of his country, and he chose Dublin for the scene because that city seemed to him the centre of paralysis"
He tried to present it to the indifferent public under four of its aspects: childhood, adolescence, maturity and public life.
