Desiderio di pace, di Mario Luzi
In my opinion the poem conveyes a message of real pace between different cultures and religions. The poet wants to underlines that when a massacre happens ,people who die are equal people, it doesen't matter what kind of religion they believe in, they are equally victims of an attack.
SEMANTICAL CHOICE:"arabo,ebreo,cristiano e indio" are the respective representatives of different religions.
STELI:monoliths of commemorative purposes, which were typical both of the East and West.                                            The poet suggests to the towers to rise again to remind everyone of the horrors of the attack.
GIGLI: This flower is native to Europe, Asia and North America.The meaning of this figure is expressed by the structure of this flower, composed of a stem high and very straight, capable of cracking but not to bend. This goes to prove that the poet wants to find a way to move beyond the tragedy and to think of a real peace.
THE VERB "RISORGETE" refears to the christian linguage.
