Revealed: Industrial Revolution was powered by child slaves

Following a study done by Professor Jane Humphries, the University of Oxford has concluded that the Industrial Revolution was carried out by child slavery. This labor was used for several reasons: first of all, the low cost.
In the eighteenth century, only 35% of boys were employed in the labor force, in the period from 1791 to 1820 century it was 55%, while in the period 1821-1850, in full Victorian Age, they went up to 60%.
Until 1791, children of eight years were employed in 20% of; between 1791 and 1850 were 33% of.
The boys were not paid because residents in Workhauses (public dormitories where "tenants" were employed free in the industry that patronized the dorm) and then used as real slaves: indeed, in the early nineteenth century, most of the 18% of British families were abandoned by their fathers, while many other parents died in accidents, epidemics and wars. Many mothers, therefore, in order to survive (and to keep alive the family) sent their children to work.
The data of this research were drawn entirely from among more than 600 biographies and autobiographies.
