OTHELLO
The first scene of the first act begins with an argument between Iago and Roderigo which creates an unkindly atmosphere. Moreover the first word of the first exchange of Iago, "Sblood", adds wrath to the atmosphere.
Analyzing the communicative level the reader can notice that Iago switches between speaking in verse and speaking in prose.
Going on with the reading the reader can find out other fellings: hate but mainly jealousy. Indeed it is the main theme of the play, and it will create a lot of problems which depend on Iago communication. Therefore there is an air of mistery and curiosity that cathes the reader's attention.
Shakespeare in the third scene of the first act explains Iago's plan with short exchanges and imperative verbs in order to confer austerity and strength to Iago.
