1.Describe yourself:

I’m Kristina and I’m 18 years old. I come from Italy and I live in Fiumicello, a small town situated in the north-easter part of Italy. I think my town is collocated in a great position since it is both near to the mountains and to the sea too. Therefore the weather is quite cold in winter and hot in summer. I like my town because it is surrounded by countrysides, afterwards there are amazing places where you can go for a walk. Besides there are different coffee bar where I usually go with my friends in my spare time. I attend the Liceo Scientifico A.Einstein in Cervignano del Friuli and at the moment I’m taking an English course to improve my English. I don’t practice any sports but there are many activities which I like to do in my spare time; for example, I like reading a book, drawing, listening to some music, dancing, watching films, and going out with my friends.

2. What do you know about Ireland?

Ireland is an island in the North Atlantic ocean and it is near the Great Britain. Dublin is the capital of Ireland and it is the place where I’m going to visit in February. I know that there many different architectural sightseeing in Dublin, such as the Ha’ penny Bridge, the Christ Church Cathedral and the Trinity College. Furthermore there are many popular statues sprawled around the city, such as “the Queer with the Leer” and “Molly Malone”.

3. Why do you need to learn English?

I need to learn English because it will be useful for my future working career. Nowadays English is considered a global language therefore it is used all over the world. Thank to English, you can speak with people from different countries. Besides it is important to learn speaking well in English for travelings, business affairs, studies…

4. What language skills do you want to practice during your course(listening, reading, writing, pronunciation) do you want to practice during your course?


I would like to practice “pronunciation” during my course in Dublin, because I have some problems in pronunce some English words. I think it is more difficult speaking English than writing it, therefore I want to improve my pronunciation.
5. What do you find particularly difficult in learning English?
I find particularly difficult the use of verbs in English because there are many different verb tenses according to the temporal references. Therefore you have to pay attention before talking or writing in English. What’s more, there are different irregular verbs which you have to study and memorize in order to speak English well.
