Mapping Murderers in the tragedy.
Animals in the tragedy.
Animals are important in the play because they have got a symbolic meaning and they underline the possible atmosphere or the feautures of the characters.
In scene I ACT IV, there are a lot of animals that help the reader understand the context.
The witches tell about a dragon in their charms: in my opinion the dragon is a typical mythical fugure that represents magic and an immaterial context. Moreover the dragon is a dangerous animal even if fantastic and so Shakespeare used it to underline the darkness of the stage that is mystery. In fact it is an element of three witches' speech .
In this scene the reader can find another element that helps understand the scene: " tooth of wolf". It is important to convey the atmosphere. The wolf is a dangerous animal;it is the main animal to represents power. Wiith the wolf Shakespeare may have wanted to recall the figure of Macbeth .
There is, however, a particular animal that represents trust, too: the dog!In my opinion Shakespeare wanted to introduce the animal in the witches' speech to recall Banquo(that was Macbeth's best friend) or the relationship between the three witches and Macbeth.
