GSerpi - analysis of a video
[author: Gianluca Serpi - postdate: 2008-03-07]

The video is a cinematographic interpretation of the poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by Wordsworth. It has been recorded in winter, as we can see from trees. The author of the video has tried to convey the opposition between the solitude of the character and the happiness of the daffodils. First the author has represented a girl in a desert place and to amplify the sense of solitude he has used grey gradations. Moreover he has focused on the girl’s eyes to represent her inner situation. The video follows the poem of Wordsworth. As a matter of fact, as in the poem, the first part is a memory. At the end of the memory, the girl return to reality and the video return colored.
