SALS Strategies for Listening and Speaking

The aim of the present area is to provide sample activities useful to promote reflection on strategies that may support students' level of autonomy in reading and speaking tasks.

Below you can find some examples that were experimented with SALS trainees with the supervision of my collaborator, professor Kelly Wager who planned and organized the activities presented here and with whom I discussed some of the learning paths implemented during SALS sessions.

Also the tapescript of the listening activity is provided.
In addition some guidelines about teaching prediction strategies can be accessed here and used for more practical use.

It goes without saying that the suggestions provided are not meant to offer ready made learning units but are rather occasions for shared reflection and exchange of ideas about the way to implement strategy teaching embedded in the teaching process so as to assist trainees and their students in promoting authonomous learning experiences.
